The Orchard Continues to Flourish!
The mango orchard was planted in 2012. Over 300 mango trees were planted. The orchard has provided mangos for preservation, and also has provided local employment to villagers who are paid by the local Mango Project business to help maintain and take care of the orchard. The orchard is also used to grow other produce such as ground nuts, cassava, and sweet potatoes. The Ugandan Mango Project staff also train local farmers how to plant and care for Mango trees on their own land. Here is an updated picture of the orchard! We could not be more excited!
