Our Needs

There are a few things that we are in need of right now to continue our work in the village. Would you consider joining with us and donating towards these needs?

Monthly Partners

Monthly donations are a lifeline for The Mango Project. Monthly donations allow us to budget our costs, and help to establish what programs can be run. Due to the pandemic and the global impact that subsequently occurred, several of our monthly donors had to make the hard choice of stopping their regular support. The Mango Project has thrived due to the support of international partners and empowerment of local leaders. Please join our community and consider becoming a monthly partner. 

Vehicle

TMP has been able to do amazing work and outreach with only the use of a motorcycle and a "tuk tuk" (local vehicle that consists of a three wheeled motorcycle with an attached trailer). However as the scope and reach of TMP increases the "tuk tuk" has limitations in transporting mangos and educators. The roads are very rough which makes traveling longer distances very challenging with the current vehicle. It has become clear that purchasing a small truck for TMP would greatly improve the impact and the capacity of the team. The desired truck costs approximately $7,500 USD. We are hoping to raise $9,000 to help with government vehicle registration, and to offset the initial costs of fuel.

Scholarships

TMP has provided scholarships and academic supplies for 5 young women since 2014. It has been a privilege to watch each of these women who face complex cultural and medical challenges due to HIV+ diagnoses overcome barriers and achieve academic success year after year. This year, one of our TMP scholars was accepted at an Ugandan university to pursue a degree in Social Work. The costs of University are higher than the costs of high school. It is crucial to raise an additional $1,800 per year, for the next 3 years to empower her to complete a degree in Social Work.
